Favourite Race? |
Sydney to Hobart yacht race. It’s a
goal of mine to do one some day. |
| Favourite Distance? |
½ Ironman - for the personal
satisfaction it gave. I’ll reassess after I’ve done Ironman. |
| Proudest Sporting
moment? |
I
won rugby grand finals whilst President of Slade Point,
Mackay (1994), and East Coast Buccaneers, Bundaberg (2002).
I love a team environment – that’s a great thing about DAT! |
| Favourite DAT Activity? |
When
we go with our families to our great sponsor - Cold Rock,
Grovelly! |
| Worst Sporting injury? |
Did
a rotor cuff falling down a hill snow skiing. Still a hassle
for sleeping, let alone tri’s. |
| What Bike do you Ride? |
A
silver, aluminium one. |
| Why do you do Triathlons? |
Because
I’m too old to play rugby. But they are great to use as a
goal to maintain a focus on getting/keeping fit. |
| Favourite Training Day? |
Sunday rides. They are the hardest, so therefore the most
rewarding! |
| Favourite DAN Quote? |
Pop your head out of the water, or ride by on the track and
you’ll get a “Go Don”. Dan’s a great supporter of all of us
individually. |
| What are your Goals this Season? |
Complete Port Macquarie Ironman, 28th March, 2010. |
| Your Hero? |
My son Oliver. He’s not really in to sport, his parents
value physical fitness, team environments, and competition.
So we drag him along to swimming, athletics, AFL, etc. - he
doesn’t complain (too much), and in his own way he gives it
his best. Dan taught him to swim and we are really thankful
for that. |
| Year began Triathlons and First Triathlon? |
Team at Noosa 1997. First full one was Noosa 1999. |
| What did you have for Breakfast? |
3
Weet-Bix with banana, 2 boiled eggs (from Oliver’s chooks,
that morning!), 2 bits of toast with ‘Our Mate’ – a
preservative-free version of Vegemite. |
